My favorite cooking blog is
Smitten Kitchen and there are a million things I want to try. Lately, I've been looking at this
recipe for lemony goat cheese pizza with zucchini and yellow squash. Alex and Erica came over to watch the final episode of LOST before the season finale (there is NO way they are going to answer all of my questions, by the way), and I thought it was the perfect occasion for homemade pizza, and of course strawberry soda. While my pizza didn't turn out as pretty as smittenkitchen's, it tasted really good.
Tah-dah!
I also made a really make-shift pizza with tomato-basil sauce, eggplant, zucchini, and tomato.
Speaking of pizza, Tanner and I are officially done with Pizza Factory!!! Tanner had two interviews in one day - one for a new restaurant and one for a small design firm - and he got both and accepted the design job. Now he is an official designer and between school, work, and his internship, literally works on his computer 24/7. But it is definitely better than serving.
congratulations tanner!!! that's so great - where is the design firm?
ReplyDeleteand brighton - next time you're in ames, there is a new pizza place (on south duff) that is SO good. it's really homemade - like with real basil leaves and big chunks of mozzarella and stuff; new favorite of mine - yum!
oh my that all looks so deeeeeelish! and congrats to you and tanner for leaving the pizza factory behind for good and moving on to bigger and better things!!! can't wait to see you...tomorrow!
ReplyDeletei'm so happy about tanner's job...and i can't wait to try the pizza. it looks so good.
ReplyDeleteyum! i have loved all the smitten kitchen recipes i've tried.
ReplyDeleteand congratulations of not being servers anymore!
Tanner, I am so glad that you were able to quit your serving job. I was so worried that you would fall back into giving drinks away and loose your sole means of support for you and your bride. Congrats on the design job for sure. I love what you've done with the Patriot logo. Maybe we can get that up and running someday.
ReplyDeleteFound you! yay!
ReplyDeletePizza looks delish by the way!
I think tomato based sauce adds extra taste to pizza. During our last visit to Brighton, our grand ma was with us, we were pretty worried about finding something to eat for her, but something strange happened, we took her to Pizzaface, and ordered Vesuvius, a spicy pizza and we wanted to order something else for her, but she causally picked and had a bite and she surprisingly ate half of it . Now she is an avid fan of pizza in Brighton.
